On April, 10th, the first day of the XIXth April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, Andrey Scherbak (HSE) and Alexey Bessudnov (University of Exeter) gave a special lecture called “Ethnic Hierarchy in the Russian Labour Market”. It was held within the framework of the 8th LCSR International workshop “Quantitative Research of Social Changes Across the World”.

On April 10th Christian Welzel gave a lecture on “Rethinking Measurement In-Equivalence: Or Why We Should Forget about MGCFA” at the 8th LCSR International Workshop. Read more about this in the publication.

ICSID team members took part in the 76th annual Midwest Political Science Association Conference that was held in Chicago on April 5-8, 2018.

LSCR Chief Research Fellow Hanspeter Kriesi will give a couple of introductory lectures at HSE on April, 16th and 18th.

The IDLab's project recieved a grant from the Russian Science Foundation.

ICSID team members took part in the WSPA Conference, which was held in San Francisco (USA) on March 29-31, 2018.

The 9^th scientific seminar ‘Modern demography’ was held on the 29^th of March. Evgeniy M. Andreev, PhD, laboratory head of the International laboratory for population and health NRU HSE, and Vladimir M. Shkolnikov, PhD, academic supervisor of the International laboratory for population and health NRU HSE, the research scientist at the Laboratory of demographic data of Max Planck Institute for demographic research, presented a paper "Relationship between mortality rates and economic development in the regions of Russia".

On March 27 Galyapin V.N. took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report on "Relationship between intergenerational transmission of values and psychological well-being of Russian teenagers in North Ossetia-Alania, Kabardino-Balkaria, Azerbaijan, and Latvia".

At the upcoming XIXth April International Academic Conference On Economic and Social Development, the leading staff of the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research will present Russian editions of their latest monographs.

HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) and NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions held another session of their joint  Research Seminar on Diversity and Development.
