Course Syllabus
Abstract
The course "Academic Writing (in English)" aims to develop students' foreign language communicative competence and to advance academic literacy, essential for using English in educational, scientific, and professional activities. This competence is highly important for further studies in Master's and PhD programs, as well as for conducting research in the chosen field. A core component of the course is preparing students to write and defend the project proposal for their Final Diploma Thesis in English, a mandatory requirement for students of all educational programs. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• Identify and apply the features of academic discourse in both written and oral communication.
• Search for, communicate and critically evaluate information from scholarly sources.
• Compose and properly format academic texts on their chosen research topic.
• Deliver effective presentations on the research topic and participate in academic discussions.
