Master’s Students of “Modern Asian and MENA Studies” Visit Gazprombank: A Dive into Finance and ESG

First-year master’s students from the “Economy and Business in Asian Countries” track of the Contemporary Asian Studies program spent an insightful day at the headquarters of Gazprombank.

The visit offered students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the corporate world of finance, explore key aspects of ESG and tackle real-life business cases — all the way until sunset.

 The event was divided into two parts: a lecture and a practical simulation. During the lecture, Gazprombank experts shared their insights on the work of financial institutions, sustainable development strategies, and the challenges facing modern corporate players. 

 In the practical part, students took on the roles of various stakeholders — from investors to regional government representatives. They were tasked with making strategic decisions on ESG-related projects across different regions of Russia, carefully balancing business goals with environmental and social responsibilities.

 The experience proved to be both educational and inspiring. Many students emphasized how such formats help them better understand the realities of the field and broaden their vision for future career path
