"Applied social psychology" master students have an internship at the Center for Sociocultural Research, which was designed in accordance with students’ individual requests regarding their master research projects. Internship is compulsory for both first and second-year master students.
The duration of the internship for the first-year master students is 4 weeks. Within this time, they learn how to plan and conduct pretests and pilot studies, which are the essential part of any empirical research project. In particular, students are trained in the development of research instruments for their studies: their development, adaptation, pretesting, and designing the questionnaire andor experimental materials and procedures. They also learn how to collect data and do fieldwork, as well as become aware of ethical principles and standards for publishing the results. The result of the internship is the instrument (i.e. the questionnaire, experimental materials and procedure) ready for data collection.
The duration of the internship for the second-year master students is 4 weeks. Within this time, they finalize their studies and write up results and discussion sections of their master theses. In particular, students have an opportunity to get individual consultations regarding statistical methods of data analysis, as well as the ways of presenting and interpreting the results obtained.
