The wide-spread idea to implement evidence-based innovation policy was taken up by the students of the Master’s programme “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation”. Having invited professors and their colleagues to discuss the most acute issues in governance of science and technology, students organized debates at the Innovators’ club to test their knowledge acquired during their studying at HSE.

On 18 April,  Master's programme  " Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation "  for the third time opened its doors to potential students, giving them a chance to meet with programme directors, lecturers, and possible future employers – well-known representatives from public administration, state-owned and private companies – took part in this event.

She talked to HSE News Service about the things she likes about her job, the cultured and energetic environment at HSE, and about the changes she sees across Russia since her undergraduate days when she first became interested in the country, its language and people.

Business Partnership Networks


On November 24, 2015, Prof. Nicholas Vonortas from the George Washington University (USA) and HSE ISSEK gave the lecture on an important phenomenon in modern business world — business partnership networks — to the second year master’s students of “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation” programme. He considered many issues, such as short history, advantages, disadvantages of business partnerships, and knowledge hubs, etc.

On November 17, 2015, Professor Jeong-Dong Lee (Seoul National University, Republic of Korea), gave a lecture to the 2nd year students of the Master’s Programme “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation” about the evolution of industry, technology and innovation policies and their impact on the development of Korea’s economy.

How do education, research and innovation interact in universities?

On November 10th, 2015 Richard Scott, the policy analyst at the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (OECD), gave a lecture about the role of higher education institutions (HEIs) in “the knowledge triangle” to the 2nd year students of the Master’s Programme “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation”, HSE.

The second enrolment in the program has increased by a third as compared with the previous year!

The new academic year has experienced a significant increase in students’ interest for the English-language Master’s programme "Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation": While 30 students were enrolled in 2014, this year 44 applicants showed outstanding performance in the tough application competition. Among them, there are 10 international students who arrived from Ghana, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, the USA, Uzbekistan, South Korea and France.
