HSE Ranked Top Russian University by Number of Subjects in Shanghai Ranking
HSE University is represented in more subjects (10—an increase from 8 last year) in the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects than any other Russian university.
The university retained its first-place position in Mathematics among Russian universities and was ranked in the 51–75 bracket worldwide.
For the first time, HSE University appeared in the rankings for Biological Sciences (in the 301–400 group) and Human Biological Sciences (401–500).
HSE University also retained its positions in Political Sciences (101–150), Public Administration (150–200), Economics (201–300), Psychology (301–400), Business Administration (301–400), Management (401–500), and Education (401–500).
A total of 19 Russian universities appeared in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), which is known for its strict criteria.
The Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects is compiled by ShangaiRanking Consultancy. It covers 54 subjects and divides global universities into five categories: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. The 2022 ranking features around 5,000 universities from 96 countries, about 1,800 of which made the Academic Ranking of World Universities.
