Student Conference ‘Russia and Brazil: as Strategic Partners: Challenges and Opportunities’
On February 26th, 2016, a student conference ‘Russia and Brazil: as Strategic Partners: Challenges and Opportunities’, dedicated to the problems of economic development of Russia and Brazil as well as the relationship between the two countries, was held at HSE.
The aim of the conference was to draw the attention of both Russian and international students to the issues of Russian-Brazilian cooperation.
The following special guests attended the event: Antonio José Vallim Guerreiro, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the Russian Federation, Henrique Fabian de Carvalho, Embassy Secretary, Evgeny Kanaev, Academic Supervisor of the Programme in International Affairs, and experts in Latin America Alina Shcherbakova (HSE), Viktoria Pabliushina (HSE) and Liudmila Okuneva (MGIMO). Not only HSE students but also students from other universities, such as MSU, All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade and others, took part in the event.
During the conference the participants learned more about possible future trends for Brazil political development, about the country itself, and what Russians and Brazilians have in common. In addition, the HSE Latin American Club was launched at the conference.
