On 25th April 2015, the HSE students’ project Agents of Health Against Stroke took first place at a pitching session for non-commercial organisations at the Fifth Lime International Festival of Social Advertising in Moscow.

At the media competition Front Page in Nizhny Novgorod at the end of April, the student newspaper 'Vyshka' and the website 'The Vyshka' representing the Moscow HSE campus, took first place in three categories.

Guido Ferradini, Italian lawyer, Vice-President of the Italian Association of Labour Law Lawers (Associazione degli Avvocati Giuslavoristi Italiani), Partner at ‘Studio Legale Ferradini & Associati’ delivered a lecture on the reforms of Italian labour law at HSE Nizhny Novgorod.

The Office of Public Relations and Online Media has launched a monitoring of publications about the research results of HSE’s faculty members

HSE Open 2015, an international tournament, was held by the HSE Debating Society in March. Participants included a number of highly experienced Russian debaters as well as a large number of international teams from Turkey, the U.S., the Netherlands and Germany.

In Nizhny Novgorod, battery collection boxes can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Today, thanks to the initiative shown by HSE students, there are four more boxes.

In April The HSE Look is devoted to  presentation of academic achievements. The editors cover the XVI April Conference  – presentations of plenary speakers and impressions of international participants. Keyong Hun Lee, Assistant Professor at the International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF), shares his research projects and experience of working with students at HSE. 

Vitaly Kurennoy, Professor and Head of HSE’s School of Cultural Studies (Faculty of Humanities) gave a presentation entitled ‘Contemporary Cultural Policy in Russia’ on April 22 at Ruhr University Bochum during a joint colloquium of the Department of Eastern European History and a seminar at the Lotman Institute for Russian and Soviet Culture.

On April 11, 2015, Jan Cremers (Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies) gave a lecture on Corporate Law and Worker Participation at the HSE Faculty of Law. The event was organized by the HSE Department of Labour Law and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

How often do you think about the environment? Every day? Once a month? Never? The Green HSE movement asks you to think about it at least once a year during its Strawberry event, which takes place from April 22 – 24, 2015. On April 22, Earth Day, founded by the UN in 2009, is celebrated globally. In Moscow, 12 universities, including MSU, MGIMO, RUDN, and Moscow Institute of Architecture, will host events on this day as part of the VuzEcoFest 2015 festival.
