Vladimir Unkovski-Korica, Assistant Professor in History, is completing his monograph 'The Economic Struggle for Power in Tito’s Yugoslavia: From World War II to Non-Alignment'. It is in the process of being published by I.B. Tauris.  The HSE Look  talked to Unkovski-Korica about his topic and the highs and lows of the writing process.

The 20th issue of The HSE Look is dedicated to  the Faculty of Humanities launched at HSE in December 2014. The Dean,  Professor Alexey Rutkevich, discussed the new opportunities and challenges connected with the foundation of this large faculty. Vladimir Unkovski-Korica, an Assistant Professor at the School of History, presents his monograph 'The Economic Struggle for Power in Tito’s Yugoslavia: from World war II to Non-Alignment'. The 'Welcome Aboard' section features an interview with Nadia Moro, an Assistant Professor at the School of Philosophy, who began working at HSE in September 2014.

As part of a review, second year fashion students (curated by Maria Smirnova) prepared projects on the unifying theme of recycling. The results of their work are on display in an exhibition at the HSE School of Design until 27th March.

Tutor Outreach is a new volunteer initiative developed by School of Philology students under the HSE’s ICEF Outreach organization. The initiative aims to help people in children’s homes with their studies. All the volunteers work as tutors, preparing the children for exams, helping them with their homework, answering difficult questions and helping them catch up with the curriculum.

On March 18 there will be public presentations defending projects that have made it to the second round of the student initiative competition. After the voting – by registered users of the Vyshka (HSE) Family website, 20 projects were selected out of a total 73. The winning projects will receive funding from the Student Initiative Support Fund.

HSE tourist club invites international students, lecturers and researchers to participate in a trekking trip to Russian South (Western Caucasus, near Sochi). The trip will last 12 days, from April 30 to May 12.
