The team of the intercampus project “From Search to Analysis: A Complete Guide to Work with Scientific Literature” is launching a series of seminars to help the academic community of our university effectively navigate the rapidly changing world of scientific information. During October, leading experts from the Higher School of Economics will give 5 open lectures to a wide audience on the use of bibliometric and digital tools for literature search and analysis.

From August 26–29, 2025, the largest annual linguistics conference, Societas Linguistica Europaea, took place in Bordeaux, France. Doctoral students and researchers from HSE University took part in the event. The paper ‘Lability Drift in Modern Aramaic languages’ by Elena Shvedova was highly praised by the expert community and took first place among PhD student presentations. In an interview with the HSE News Service, Elena Shvedova spoke about her research and the conference itself.

The annual Interdisciplinary Forum "Bioinformatics and Cardiogenetics: Realities of 2025" was held on September 8-9. It focused on the project "Machine Learning Technologies in Predicting Outcomes of Acute Coronary Syndrome," which is being implemented within the Mirror Lab.

An international team, including scientists from HSE University, has demonstrated for the first time that the anterior and posterior portions of the human hippocampus have distinct roles in associative memory. Using stereo-EEG recordings, the researchers found that the rostral (anterior) portion of the human hippocampus is activated during encoding and object recognition, while the caudal (posterior) portion is involved in associative recall, restoring connections between the object and its context. These findings contribute to our understanding of the structure of human memory and may inform clinical practice. A paper with the study findings has been published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.

A new article has been published introducing the HarPULL hardware and software platform, a new system for ultra-fast tracking of brain rhythms in real time.

From August 25 to 29, 2025, Nizhny Novgorod hosted the VOLGA NEUROSCIENCE MEETING, an international conference bringing together leading researchers in the field of neuroscience.
The team of the Center for Bioelectric Interfaces presented a number of reports and posters on modern neurotechnologies, machine learning and the development of noninvasive neuroimaging systems.

Gabriella Leelee Enchill (Research intern at International Laboratory for Social Integration Research) engaged in Archipelago ’25 Tech Expo at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. The forum was held on 7^th-17^th August, 2025; themed “Within the Framework of the International Forum on the Development of Unmanned Systems”.

Gabriella Leelee Enchill (Research intern at International Laboratory for Social Integration Research) attended a world forum large scale meeting being held by the International Organization for Eurasian Cooperation in Moscow. The forum was held on 20^th-21^st August, 2025; themed “New Era, New Ways”.

HSE University and the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil) have announced the launch of a major joint research project to develop new approaches to an alternative international financial system. The initiative, which brings together leading experts in global economics and finance, seeks to analyse the current state of international financial architecture and explore ways of transforming it in the context of a changing geopolitical landscape.
