HSE Enters Top-250 of Graduate Employability Rankings

HSE University was able to place high on the Graduate Employability Ranking (201-250), outpacing its main competitors for the first time in five years. This year, the number of candidates to the ranking was increased 15% (758 universities), with new 36 universities joining the list.

The ranking includes a total of 13 Russian universities, and HSE University is the 4^th among them. Our institution has improved its positions in the ranking thanks to its graduates’ enhanced reputation among potential employers, the rising number of joint publications with industry partners, and the expanding number of companies offering internships for HSE students.

Our impressive positioning in the rankings was driven, first of all, by our active approach to career development – HSE University is particularly focused on this. Over half of our students start a career at the end of their second year of studies. Furthermore, the total number of internship offers is growing, and more focus is being made on practical work with real cases, coupled with introduction to current job markets. As of today, HSE University’s partners include over 800 leading Russian and global companies, and interest in our students is on the rise annually. We, as a university, go the extra mile to make sure that our students take leading positions, not only in study rankings, but on the career market as well.

The methodology of the QS Graduate Employability ranking drastically differs from the general QS World University Ranking’s methodology. It is based on five indicators: Employer Reputation (based on surveys, 30%); Alumni Outcomes (25%); Partnerships with Employers per Faculty (25%); Employer/Student Connections (10%); and Graduate Employment Rate (10%).
