On September 28, the HSE Cultural Centre hosted a memorial service for Evgeny Yasin, an outstanding Russian economist, one of the founders of HSE University, and its academic supervisor for many years. His family, friends, colleagues and students came to say farewell and bring flowers.
Evgeny Yasin, the HSE University Honorary Academic Supervisor who played a pivotal role in its establishment, one of the primary architects of the economic reforms in Russia during the 1990s, revered mentor and dedicated researcher, passed away on September 25. Anatoly Vishnevsky, HSE Distinguished Professor and Director of the HSE Institute of Demography, died at the age of 85. Igor Mikhailovich Bunin, historian, political scientist, President of the Centre for Political Technologies, Head of the Joint Department with Centre for Political Technologies at HSE Faculty of Social Sciences, and one of the pioneers of Russian political technologies, passed away on Saturday, May 12. He was 72.
