ICSID Director Andrei Yakovlev took part in the 1st Ariel Conference on the Political Economy of Public Policy that was held in Israel on September 10-12, 2017. 

The fifth scientific seminar ‘Modern demography’ of the International laboratory for population and health NRU HSE took place on the 7^th of September. On this seminar researches on cancer and its determinants based on the data from cancer registers and the role of cancer registers in determining the real status of oncological aid provided to the population were discussed. Giedre Smailyte, head of the Laboratory of cancer epidemiology of the National cancer institute, Vilnius, Lithuania, Domantas Jasilionis, research scientist at the Laboratory of Demographic data of the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research, Rostock, Germany and Vakhtang M. Merabishvili, head of the Population based cancer register of St. Petersburg, chairman of the Scientific and methodological council for the development of information systems of the cancer service of the North-Western Federal District of Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia, presented their papers.

Some of the ICSID researchers took part in the 113th American Political Science Association Annual Meeting 2017 that was held in San Francisco on August 31-September 3, 2017.

In June 2017, Elena Trapeznikova, an young researcher at the Laboratory, while still a student at HSE-Perm, participated in the I.S.E.O Summer School in Italy and talks about why the Summer School inspired her.

ICSID Leading research fellow Ekaterina Borisova took part in the 26th Silvaplana Workshop on Political Economy that was held in Pontresina, Switzerland, on July 23-27, 2017.

In 3-7 July IDLab members Iuliia Naidenova and Sofia Paklina, and lecturer of Economics and Finance Department of HSE Perm and GAMES Lab member Eugenia Popova, took part in Barcelona GSE Summer School and passed the Quantitative Methods for Public Policy Evaluation course

On June 14 the workshop ‘Complexity of Computation, Communication, Descriptions, and Proofs’, organized by the Laboratory of Theoretical Computer Science, was held at HSE Faculty of Computer Sciences. The conference was organized as part of the major international conference ‘Computer Science in Russia’.

On Wednesday, June 28 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. Professor E. Artemov gave a lecture on «Strategic "Mistakes": Implications for Market Design Research»

Some of the ICSID researchers took part in the 21st Annual  Conference of the Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics that was held at Columbia University in New York on June 23-25, 2017.

ICSID Research fellows Noah Buckley and David Szakonyi participated in the 7th Annual General Conference of the European Political Science Association that took place in Milan on June 22-24, 2017.
