This year Prof. Irina Ivashkovskaya and Prof. Elvina Baiburina presented their research results on “The stylized benchmark of IC disclosure: the value relevance for BRICS, US, German listed companies”. My presentation was devoted to the topic “In search of the IC Model: discovering the six elements of intellectual capital”. — Сould you please tell us more about HSE Perm’s cooperation with AREOPA? What are the goals and achievements?

I first met the president of AREOPA, Ludo Pyis, in 2011 during the European Conference on Intellectual Capital. AREOPA is an international company that provides consulting and education services in the field of knowledge management and intellectual capital. In 2012, the economic faculty of HSE Perm invited Ludo Pyis to a two-day interdisciplinary Workshop. One of the main results of that event was the development of joint projects: international master’s program, research into the impact of intellectual capital on companies’ performance, as well as annual workshops for business representatives. Our joint activities aim to provide an international research focus, as well as developing new practices, tools and products that enable Russian companies to manage their intellectual capital. So far this year, during the 9th international workshop on intangibles we (Perm HSE and AREOPA) launched the IC Accounting project. This is due to begin at the end of this year when Ludo Pyis will give lectures for master’s students of the economic faculty of Perm HSE as a visiting professor. His visit will also include a series of workshops for young researchers and representatives of Perm companies who are interested in value creation through intangible assets.
