‘As Sociologists, We Have a Unique Perspective on the World’

Shannon Davis, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of George Mason University (USA) is visiting Moscow this week for the seminar ‘From the Great Recession to Greater Gender Equality? Family Mobility and the Intersection of Race, Class, and Gender’ organized by the HSE Laboratory for Studies in Economic Sociology. It will take place on March 19.

Workplaces Under the Press of Election Technologies

Traditionally, the falsification of an election involves filling ballot boxes with fake ballot papers. International researchers at the HSE analyzed another mechanism which can be used to distort the election process: pressure on employers and employees. ‘Our Laboratory Is an Integrated Part of International Research’

Foresight is More Prescience than Prognosis

Labour Law: A Barrier to Both Hiring and Laying Off

Compared with large companies, small and medium-sized businesses in Russia find it easier to avoid complying with the country’s strict labor legislation because they are able to skirt its regulations.
