Oxfam Final Workshop
Set of OxFam lectures and workshops within the course "Humanitarian Actions" leading by Sanjay Rajhans is approaching the logical end. The main goal of the course is to introduce the studemts of MA programmes "Population and Development" and "Political Analysis and Public Policy" with the legal mechanism of protecting the human in the most vulnerable situations and also equip the students with the knowledge and applied skills about the human rights studies in the distressed/conflict zones.

The speaker is Edith Muluhya, Global Gender Adviser (Oxfam Global Humanitarian Team), lecture on Gender Issues. Also among the participants are students of “Population and Development” and “Political Analysis and Public Policy” programmes.

From the “Reception” to the Forum Alpbach Network (FAN) Booth in the “Lounge” on Hopin, a student of the Population and Development programme, Goodnews Israel Oshiogbele, had a great maiden experience at the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) 2020 which held virtually from August 23rd to September 3rd, 2020.

Lecture of Valentina Frolova during class 'Gender and Development'
On February, 25, during class "Gender and Development", Valentina Frolova, lawyer of the Union of Women's NGOs, gave a guest lecture in the format of a round table. Students of "Population and Development", "Comparative Social Research programmes as well as international students and professors - Olga Isupova and Valeria Utkina attended the event.

Summer School on Migration, Russian Red Cross
The summer school on migration, organized by the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Red Cross, gathered 30 enthusiastic students interested in migration processes and their impact on socio-economic, political and cultural changes in the world and modern Russia

10th Demographic Conference of "Young Demographers"
Sally Sonia Simmons, a second-year student of the master’s programme “Population and Development”, participated in the 10th Demographic Conference of "Young Demographers", which took place in Charles University, Prague, Check Republic, February 6-8, 2019.

What Does It Cost to Save Food
The conference dubbed "WHAT DOES IT COST TO SAVE FOOD" was organized by The Liaison Office with the Russian Federation (LOR) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) in collaboration with Messe Düsseldorf on the 29th of January 2019 in Moscow. In this conference, our student, Yaw Owusu Ansah, worked as a volunteer for FAO as part of his internship duties with this international organization.
Getting Familiar with UN Activities in Russia and Worldwide.
On May 24th students of the programme "Population and Development" met Dr. Melita Vujnovic, World Health Organization Representative in Russia, who gave a talk on the agency’s perspectives and ambitious plans for the nearest future. She kindly answered all the questions, encouraged to get familiar with WHO latest reports, and recommend to apply for internships.
