Educational Studies Moscow journal, which is published by HSE University, is now included in the second quartile (Q2) of the Scopus international scientometric database. This reflects the high level of citation and demand for the journal within the academic community, thus confirming its status as the best Russian publication in the field of education.

In June, the Scopus scientometric database published updated data for 2019, whereby Educational Studies Moscow is now indexed in the second quartile (Q2). Quartiles reflect the level of citation, that is, a measure of the impact factor of the journal—its relevance for the scientific community. There are four quartiles: from Q1 (highest) to Q4 (lowest).

To determine the quartile of a journal on the basis of the Scopus database, the SCIMagoJournalRank (SJR) is used—an indicator that takes into account, along with citations, the prestige of journals that cite a given journal, the proximity of their subject matter, and the likelihood of citations in a particular field. The SJR rating is publicly available. It is updated and published annually on the Scimago Journal & Country Rank online platform. At present, for Educational Studies Moscow, Scopus covers issues from 2012 to 2019. The SJR Index for 2019 is 0.481.
