On May 31, 2024, the opening of the Second Annual Interdisciplinary Conference “Exploring the Deaf Community” took place at the GES-2 House of Culture, bringing together scientists and practitioners from more than 10 countries.

On May 29, Prof Elena Dragalina-Chernaya made a presentation of the HSE International Laboratory for Logic, Linguistics and Formal Philosophy at the Logica Universalis Webinar. The presentation covered the main directions of scientific research, the history and projects of the laboratory.

The Forum brought together more than 200 representatives from the expert community across all BRICS countries to discuss the topic ‘BRICS: New Figures at the Global Chessboard.’ The forum was organised by the BRICS Expert Council–Russia, which operates on the basis of HSE University. The event’s opening ceremony featured the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Duma, as well as HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and HSE Vice Rector, Russian W20 Sherpa Victoria Panova.

The 9^th African Population Conference themed «Road to 2030: Leveraging Africa’s human capital to achieve transformation in a world of uncertainty» was held between 20^th – 24^th May, 2024 at the BICC international conference center, Lilongwe, Malawi.

On May 24, a session of the scientific research workshop "From the Logical Point of View" took place where the intern researcher IL LogLinFF Egor Emelyanov made a presentation on the topic of "A Simple Argument: Are the Conditions of Correct Use Sufficient for the Normativity of Linguistic Meaning?"

The Institute of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the international scientific and practical conference "Artificial Intelligence and Law: The Experience of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries". Research fellow of the International Laboratory for Digital Transformation in Public Administration Evgeny Diskin took part in the conference as a speaker.

Yuri Kabanov, Research Fellow of the International Laboratory of Digital Transformation in Public Administration, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Higher School of Economics – St. Petersburg, spoke at the next online seminar of the laboratory. The report was devoted to the role of international indices in the policy of the "digital state" using the example of the UN E-Government Index, which remains a key source of information on the development of digital public services in a cross-national perspective.

Russian and Italian scientists have launched a joint project to study how genes function in individual cells of glioma, a form of brain cancer, as well as the microenvironment generated by this tumor.
