On May 21–22, 2026, the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference was held at Samara State Medical University. The conference brought together Russian and foreign specialists in the fields of neuroscience, neurotechnologies, artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, and neurorehabilitation.

Researchers from the HSE Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience took part in the annual Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) conference, which was held on June 14–18, 2026 in Bordeaux, France. The team presented a series of studies on the perception of misleading narratives, manipulative messages, and the evaluation of information source credibility.

In early June, the Science Republic initiative of the Centre for Student Academic Development presented popular science projects at the Science and Ice Cream Festival at VDNKh. On June 5, 13, and 14, HSE University ran an extensive programme of events, from lectures to intellectual games. The events took place at the BIOTECH Museum, Museum of Urban Economy of Moscow, and Smart City pavilions.

On June 19, 2026, a research seminar was held at the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (IDLab), where Junior Research Fellow Egor Ivanov presented his study. The research explored how the joint implementation of BPM and CRM systems affects firm performance across various industries.

Deputy Head of Laboratory for SOcial and Cognitive Informatics Elena Artemenko took part in the 76th annual conference of the International Comminication Association (ICA) in Cape Town, South-African Republic.

On June 18, Valeria Koncha, a researcher at the International Centre for the Study of Institutions and Development, successfully defended her PhD dissertation on the topic: "The Transformation of Protesters’ Collective Identities in Interaction with Counter‑Protest: The Cases of "Black Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter" (2013–2014)".

On 17 June the 123rd session of the theoretical seminar "Formal Philosophy" took place.

Researchers at HSE University, in collaboration with colleagues from other Russian institutions, have identified which mutations in the ACVRL1 gene may be pathogenic in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The team modelled how genetic variations affect ATP binding to the protein—a process essential for transmitting signals required for normal vascular function. The researchers found that 20 of the 32 variants studied can disrupt signal transmission and are therefore likely to cause disease. The findings have been published in the Journal of Structural Biology.

Anastasia Torgud, a research intern at the ICSID, has won first place in the Olympiad for applicants to HSE University’s PhD programmes.
