On 11 July 2026, at Pavilion No. 30 "Biotech" at VDNKh, Evgeny N. Knyazev, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the HSE University Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology and a featured scientist of the fifth season of "The Faces of Science," delivered a public lecture entitled "An Organ Made of Plastic and Cells: New Medicine Without Human Experiments," dedicated to organ-on-a-chip technology.

The conference was held at the HSE Kochubey Center and brought together 100 participants from different regions of Russia, as well as two participants from China. The scientific forum was a great success, bringing together scientists from scientific and educational organizations and researchers from the industry, demonstrating the important scientific and applied importance of molecular dynamics, as well as the need for interdisciplinary interaction between scientists.

On June 22, Alexander Vyazmin successfully defended his PhD dissertation on grasping and transporting objects with the hand. The study examines how the requirement to rotate an object affects different phases of the movement even before contact with the object is made.

Last week, the 2026 IEEE 27th International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM) was held in the Altai Republic. The conference brought together young researchers and specialists in the field of electronic devices, materials, engineering, and biomedical technologies.

From June 28 to July 3 (Elbrus), the conference with international participation “Neurocampus Caucasus 2026” was held. The scientific program brought together researchers in the fields of neuroscience, neurotechnologies, neuromedicine, and multimodal diagnostics.

On June 30, 2026, Anna Rusinova defended her candidate’s dissertation on the topic “A study of the relationships between interoceptive awareness and psychophysiological state, time perception, and prosocial behavior.”

In an experiment involving 15 healthy men, scientists at HSE University investigated how different phases of the cardiac cycle influence the excitability of the motor cortex when participants viewed either their own photograph or the faces of strangers. The researchers found that when participants looked at their own image, the brain’s response to signals from the heart was weaker, meaning that the influence of cardiac activity on the motor cortex decreased. This finding came contrary to expectations, as self-focused attention was thought to enhance the brain's sensitivity to internal bodily signals. The study has been published in Frontiers in Signal Processing.

Ivan Sobolev's article "The Frontier of Semantics and Pragmaticsin the Philosophy of Language" has been published in the journal Epistemology and Philosophy of Science.

On July 4, at the 56th Eurasia Business and Economics Society Conference (56th EBES Conference), held in Istanbul in a hybrid format, Junior Research Fellow at the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy Evgeniya Shenkman presented the study "Medium-Term Electricity Load Forecasting Using Large Language Models", co-authored with Anastasiya Kireecheva. The research was conducted as part of the Russian Science Foundation project No. 25-18-00539, "Comparative Analysis of AI-Based Agents and Real Individuals in Economic Decision-Making."
