Professor Vagov, the Director of the Center for Quantum Metamaterials at the HSE University's MIEM, , appeared as an expert in the Agora TV program on CULTURE TV channel on Saturday, April 18. The episode was dedicated to the topic "Quantums: How to Live in an Unstable World?". The participants discussed the fundamental issues of quantum physics and their philosophical interpretations.

On April 3, 2026, the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (IDLab) held a research seminar. Victor Krakovich, Associate Professor at the Department of Finance (HSE University St. Petersburg) and Research Fellow at IDLab, presented a report titled "Measuring Human Capital in Finance: A Literature Review and Emerging Directions."

The application of the Center for Quantum Metamaterials has become the winner of the 2026 Russian Science Foundation competition for conducting fundamental and exploratory scientific research. The project "Study of Subgap Absorption Mechanisms in Disorderly Superconducting Films for the Development of Terahertz Electronics Devices" will be implemented under the supervision of the Center's Director, Dr. Alexey Vagov.

The conference programme covers five research topics: economics; human capital and society; instrumental methods and models; foresight research; and international research. Hundreds of scientists from around the world will take part in the conference.

On April 3, HSE-Perm researchers participated online in the international scientific and practical conference "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Birthplace of International Sports Cooperation and Health". The event, held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, gathered participants from more than 12 countries.

The 3rd Moscow International Political Science Forum "Politics, Power, Communications, and Technology. Modern Challenges" was held at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA)

The speakers presented over 20 reports throughout the three days of the seminar.

Researchers from the HSE Center for Language and Brain and the Mental Health Research Centre have proposed a new method of linguistic analysis that enables the distinction between normal and pathological ageing. Using this approach, they showed that patterns in patients’ word choices during verbal fluency tests allow clinicians to more accurately differentiate clinically significant impairments from subjective memory complaints. Incorporating this type of analysis into clinical practice could improve the accuracy of early dementia diagnosis. The results have been published in Applied Neuropsychology: Adult.
