LIFE-CHANGING YEAR: Double Degree Programme with Technical University of Berlin
An author of these lines got an uneasy task of combining so similar and yet so different thoughts, feelings, memories, opinions and pieces of advice of our amazing group of 4 people that travelled to Berlin last year to study for a double-degree (though everyone had own reasons: get the second diploma, experience the cool life in Berlin, get out of the comfort zone). This article is a must-read for you if you consider becoming a part of this double-degree program. We will try to describe the life and the studies in Berlin as they appeared to us. Let`s dive in this experience.
Internship experience at OECD: think-tank with its global purpose to build "better policies for better lives"
Maria Zamyatina:I learnt about the internship through our Master’s program website and immediately became interested. OECD is a well-known ‘think-tank’. It is an international organization with a goal to build ‘better policies for better lives’. Being a unique center for knowledge creation and share of best-practices, the organization works to establish norms and find evidence-based solutions to a range of socio-economic and environmental challenges the humanity is currently facing. I was greatly inspired by the immense work the Organisation does to create and share knowledge throughout the societies, and I wanted to be part of it.

Get ready to innovate
English language Master’s Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' of the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge opens new 5th enrolment. 18 April there was the first meeting with the interested candidates. Future innovators, high-tech startup creators and policy makers in S&T took part in the interactive foresight session — in a very uncommon format for the Open Doors Day. Such communication was of great value for all the participants, and made some of them come again — with the applications for admission.
"Hard work! The best idea for your business is to start working. Just make small steps every day towards your dream".
Last May, Katerina Shipilova, the graduate of ‘Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' Masters’ Programme, told us about her experience of launching a paper collection start-up ‘MK Service’. After the graduation Katerina launched one more project: Walk&Talk Tours – walking tours in English. A year in Germany at Double Degree Programme: "Test yourself"
We spent about 10 months in Germany, the first two semesters of the Double Degree Master's Program of the Higher School of Economics and the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB). We would like to tell you about the program and about our first year in Berlin in particular. Our education is dedicated to innovation studies. We learn to conduct research of the infrastructure of innovation, economic policy and business support measures, technology development, technology management in large and small companies and high-tech entrepreneurship. The program in Berlin is called Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, the program in Moscow is Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation. The programs of partner universities successfully complement each other, but there are more reasons to choose the Double Degree apart from coordinating study plans.
