HSE Doctoral Students Receive Presidential Grants

Elizaveta Sysoeva (Doctoral School of History) and Alexander Suvalko (Doctoral School of Philosophy), doctoral students at the HSE Faculty of Humanities, have received grants from the Russian President to study abroad in the academic year 2017/18.

Elizaveta is taking up internship at the University of Mainz, and Alexander is going to Ruhr-University Bochum.

Presidential grants are given as part of a competition. High-achieving undergraduate and doctoral students who consistently perform well in studies and research, win national and international competitions, creative contests, and festivals, are all eligible to apply for the grant, as are those who have developed their own inventions and published academic articles in leading Russian or international journals. About 100 such grants are awarded every year.

HSE Offers Psychometric Analysis of Online Courses

The HSE Centre for Psychometrics in eLearning is currently developing techniques, tools, and automated services for psychometric analysis of online courses as part of the project ‘Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation’. 52 HSE Students Awarded Presidential Grants

Russian Presidential grants for first year BA students at Russian universities have been awarded for the first time for the 2015/2016 academic year. HSE students were among the top recipients.

Student at HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics Wins Technology Contest

The finals of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises’ Moscow Youth Start 2015 Bright Spark contest were held over July 24-25. Fifth year student at the HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics Maria Pavlova (Applied Mathematics major) was one of the winners, with her project to ‘develop an automated device to diagnose heart disease’.

The Best Report in London

Ekaterina Streltsova, Junior Research Fellow of the Department for Statistics of Science at the Institute for Statistical Studies and the Economics of Knowledge, took part the third International Conference on History and Society Development. Her report was recognized as the best at the conference.

ERC Grants: Options and Opportunities

On September 18th 2012, a delegation from the European Research Council (ERC) visited the Higher School of Economics. ERC representatives spoke about how Russian researchers can access the grant programme of the Council.

Master in European Business or Business as Art

From May 15th-17th, 2012, Jérôme Bon, a recognized guru of the international market of business education, Emeritus Professor of ESCP EUROPE (№1 in Financial Times Ranking), founder and director of EMBA, Deputy Director General of ESCP EUROPE, President of the French Association of Business Schools, and member of several editorial committees of leading international journals, visited the HSE. He told us about the launch of a unique, new cutting-edge Master in European Business program at the HSE.

Attracting the Best Scientists – 2

On September 21st the Russian Government Grant Council announced the names of the winners of the second open competition for Russian Government grants for state support of scientific research conducted under the supervision of leading scientists in Russian universities. Among the 39 winners were two applications from the Higher School of Economics.
