HSE at the BRICS Universities Summit
On 3-4 December 2014 the inaugural BRICS and Emerging Economies Universities Summit will take place in Moscow. On 3 December the HSE will host its ‘Russian Universities Day’.
The Times Higher Education magazine (THE) has prepared 2014-2015 rankings for the BRICS and emerging economies universities which will be presented at the summit. THE Experts assessed universities in Russia, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Egypt and others.
On 3 December participants will gather at the HSE for ‘Russian Universities Day’ to discuss issues of international cooperation in education with representatives of the Times Higher Education magazine, Russian universities taking part in the 5/100 project and foreign universities. A concert of classical music is planned for the event.
On 4 December the summit will continue at the National University for Science and Technology MISIS.
The summit is organised by the 5/100 Project to make Russian universities more competitive and the Times Higher Education magazine.
Four HSE Research Centers Included in the Boston College Worldwide Inventory of Higher Education Research Centers
The Boston College Center for International Higher Education has published its Worldwide Inventory of Research Centers, Academic Programmes and Journals in Higher Education. Four Russian research centers are included, all of them are part of HSE.
HSE is among the top four universities according to the rating compiled by the Council on Enhancing the Competitiveness of Russia’s Leading Universities.

Anna Smolentseva, Leading Research Fellow at HSE’s Institute of Education, has been elected Vice-Chair of the Council for International Higher Education (CIHE) of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).
On October 16-18, the 5th International Conference of the Russian Association of Higher Education Researchers took place at the Higher School of Economics. The theme of this year's conference was 'Managing Differentiation in Rapidly Changing Higher Education Systems: Challenges and Opportunities.'
