Course Syllabus

Abstract

The main goal of this course is to introduce students to the main principles of development and evaluation of tests in education and psychology. Students will: • learn about the test development process, basic principles of educational and psychological testing and the development of context surveys • know how to apply basic item development skills (multiple choice questions, essay, matching items, sequencing items) • develop their own prototype of the test • get the test reviewing skills

Learning Objectives

• The main goal of this course is to develop students’ understanding of test development process and get students acquainted with modern (technologically enhanced) test development practices.

Expected Learning Outcomes

• Students will broaden their systematic view on test development
• Students will explain basic principles of Evidence-Centered Design
• Students will learn how to develop technologically enhanced items.
• Describes the basic principles of psychological test design and construction.

• Development of various types of test tasks - part 1
• Development of various types of test tasks - part 2
• Psychological test design and construction.
• Principled Assessment Design paradigm. Essentials of Evidence-Centered Design
• Next generation assessment and test development: technologically enhanced (TEI) and innovative task types.
• Development of alternative (equivalent) forms of assessment
• Universal design and adaptation tests. Pilot study
