Retake
Academic failures are to be eliminated in the following retake periods:

Only unsatisfactory grades (0-3) are subject to retakes.
- The first retake is conducted by the instructor who assigned the interim assessment grade.
- The second retake is taken before a special examination board comprising a minimum of three examiners, including the course instructor.
HSE Rules and regulations students have the right to defer their second retake in order to repeat the course and undergo all relevant elements of assessment to improve your cumulative grade. However, you can defer a retake only for no more than two courses at most. All remaining courses should be closed with satisfactory grades or higher.
Before the scheduled date of the second retake (no later than 2 calendar days before the date of the second retake), submit an electronic application "To postpone the retake date for the course and its repeated study" through the Student Service Centre.

Study conditions when opting to defer the second retake

To repeat the course, it is necessary to sign an Agreement on mastering a specific component of the given degree programme.
The cost of services under the Agreement is calculated according to the Procedure for Calculating the Cost of Educational Services.
The retake process is regulated by the Regulations for Interim and Ongoing Assessments of Students at National Research University Higher School of Economics.
