Christian Fröhlich

Programme Academic Supervisor

 Having obtained his PhD from the University of Leipzig in Germany, Christian Fröhlich was a research associate at Södertörn University in Sweden before joining HSE´s School of Sociology. He is also the managing editor of the HSE Working Paper Series in Sociology. Christian´s research interests lie in the study of civil society and social movements.


Anna Almakaeva

Deputy Head of LCSR

Anna Almakaeva is a candidate of sociological sciences (Ph.D. equivalent) and the deputy Director of the international Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at HSE. Her research focuses on trust, social capital and human values.


Eduard Ponarin
Head of LCSR
 Eduard Ponarin has received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan, USA. He is the director of the international Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at HSE. Research interests cover well-being, nationalism, religion and advance methods of statistical data analysis

 


Lili Di Puppo

Associate Professor

 Lili Di Puppo is Assistant Professor at HSE School of Sociology. She holds a PhD from the European Viadrina University in Frankfurt/Oder, Germany. She has written her doctoral thesis on the topic of anti-corruption reforms in Georgia. She was previously a post-doctoral researcher at HSE and a lecturer at Ilia State University in Georgia. Her current research project focuses on Islamic education in Russia
Arnab Roy Chowdhury

Research Fellow

Arnab Roy Chowdhury is an Assistant Professor at the school of sociology in HSE, Moscow. He has received his PhD in Sociology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests cover social movement studies, environmental sociology, sociology of development, historical and comparative sociology, state-society relations and postcolonial studies. Prior to this he was a postdoctoral fellow at the department of public policy in HSE. Earlier, he was an Assistant Professor in the public policy group of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC). 

 
Ekaterina Sergeyevna Mitrofanova

Junior Research Fellow

Ekaterina Mitrofanova is a demographer. She graduated from HSE in 2011 and since has been working there as a researcher and lecturer. Her main interests are generations, life course events and the transition to adulthood. She analyses biographies with such advanced methods as Event History Analysis and Sequence Analysis
