Russian and foreign universities will take part in the Day of Russian Universities, which will be held today at HSE.

The Day of Russian Universities offers a platform to present new projects and innovative methods in the field of higher education, as well as to share experience. In addition, participants will discuss opportunities for developing international connections.

The event will be attended by over 100 representatives from universities in India, China, Brazil, the US, UK, South Africa, and other countries, as well as by heads of Russian universities participating in the 5/100 initiative, a project aimed at increasing the international competitiveness of Russian universities.

The Day of Russian Universities is one of the key events in the BRICS Universities Summit, which is organized by Times Higher Education and the 5/100 initiative. Rating results for THE BRICS and Emerging Economies Rankings 2015 will be announced at the summit.

How has higher education influenced the evolution of nations since the Second World War—and vice versa? Stanford professor Mitchell Stevens and Institute of Education researcher Ekaterina Shibanova have tried to answer this question in a special issue of the European Journal of Higher Education. They invited renowned historians, political experts, sociologists and economists to develop ‘a consensus on the role of higher education in political and social history after 1945.’ The special issue was created with input from researchers from Canada, Luxembourg, Russia, Germany, France, the UK, and Sweden.

HSE Enters Top 15% of THE Young University Rankings 2021

HSE University has improved its indicators of research, international outlook, and industry income in THE Young University Rankings. HSE University now ranks 57th among  475 international universities and is the only Russian university in the Top 100.
