Employment rates for ICEF alumni in 2023 remain consistently high. Just a month after graduating from the International Bachelor’s Programme in Economics and Finance, 93% of graduates confirmed to the ICEF Career Centre that they had received job offers or decided to continue their studies in Russia and abroad in master’s and PhD programmes. In the 2023/24 academic year, the Bachelor’s programme in Software Engineering at HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science has a new academic supervisor. Nikolay Pavlochev has experience in successfully implementing initiatives for the development of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). At Acronis, a company working in the field of backup and data recovery protection systems, he has worked with leading technical universities in Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, and the USA. HSE University has announced the results of its 2023/24 online admissions campaign. The university, which leads in CIS countries in terms of the number of online programmes (three bachelor’s and 18 master’s), has once again attracted the most students this year with a total of 1,750 admissions.
On October 10, 2016, the Faculty of Physics was created at HSE University. It was the university’s first natural science faculty. Its first master’s students graduated in 2019, its first bachelor’s students completed their studies in 2021, and the first doctoral students will do the same in 2023 after beginning their bachelor’s studies in 2017. Starting from 2024, applicants to the HSE Art and Design School in St Petersburg will be able to choose a new track in Fashion Design—something unique to the city’s fashion industry. Students of the new track will study according to a special programme developed by the HSE Art and Design School. The track has already been successfully tested on the Moscow campus and has shown impressive results, judging by the careers of its graduates.
This academic year, one of the courses of the HSE School of Communication will be taught entirely in the virtual space. A personal avatar of the teacher will help students through the process. The students will complete the course by implementing their own project in the metaverse.
Valery Rodionov, member of the Russian team who took gold at the 2023 International Olympiad in Informatics, has enrolled at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science. The intellectual competition took place in early September in Hungary.
Faculty of Economic Sciences Holds Math BootCamps for Those Starting Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees
More than 200 future bachelor’s and master’s students from around the world spent the last two weeks of summer improving their mathematical knowledge and honing their problem-solving skills. The free online classes have been held for the fourth year in a row. They allow first-year students not only to succeed in their studies, research, and project activities at HSE University’s Faculty of Economic Sciences (FES), but also to quickly integrate into the international community of students, graduates, and teachers.
Three bachelor’s students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science programme in ‘Applied Mathematics and Information Science’ recently participated in the International Mathematics Competition for University Students (IMC), winning two first prizes and a second prize.
