The Internet Needs Freedom but There Have to Be Limits

How can we combine protecting personal data with the freedom of  information? Why have a tax for internet users? How far can states go in internet regulation? These and other questions were discussed at the 4th International Summer School on Cyber Law at HSE.   

HSE SPb Bachelor’s Economics and Master’s Finance Programmes Accredited by ACCA

The Bachelor’s programme in Economics  and the Master’s programme in Finance at HSE in St. Petersburg have successfully gained accreditation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Graduates of the bachelor’s programme will now be exempt from two and Graduates of the master’s programme, from four ACCA exams.

HSE Students at the International Mathematics Competition

The Prestigious International Mathematics Competition for University Students took place in Bulgaria this year between 27 July and 2nd August. Competitors were given 10 problems to solve for a maximum of 10 points. HSE’s Faculty of Computer Science was represented by Vadim Kalashnikov and Gleb Posobin who are about to embark on the second year of their degree course. According to overall international ratings for students in any subject they were awarded first and third prizes respectively.

Last week, the Summer School on Russian-Chinese Business: Cultural and Legal Aspects came to an end. The School saw the participation of students from HSE Nizhny Novgorod and from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL) in Chongqing, China. Global education gives students a new perspective on the world, and teaches them to value differences of opinion, external expert with Project 5-100 Francisco Marmolejo believes.
