HSE University to Host FIT-M 2021 International Scientific Forum

HSE University to Host FIT-M 2021 International Scientific Forum

FIT-M International Scientific Forum / Habr

On December 16–18, the FIT-M 2021 International Scientific Forum on the Application of Information Technologies and Computer Simulation in Scientific Research and Engineering and Industrial Business will be held at HSE University. The forum will have a mixed format, with events taking place both offline and online.

FIT-M will feature 200 expert speakers, including scientists and researchers from leading universities and research centres (MIEM, HSE University, Moscow State University, ITMO, Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, RANEPA, MIREA, RAS), as well as technical directors from innovative international IT companies (Anna Systems, AMD, Supermicro, ASBIS).

The speakers will examine the main trends in the application of information technologies in the modern world, and participants will discuss issues related to fundamental and applied science, strategic analysis, successful business cases and industrial experience from leading players in the IT industry.

Forum formats:

The MACSPro'2021 Conference is devoted to the application of mathematical and computer modelling to complex technical and social systems. Researchers will have the opportunity to present their work in its early stages and receive feedback from experts and scientists.

The Reactor is a series of workshops and master classes that will help participants not only gain expert skills, but also learn about current market trends in such areas as engineering calculation, design, applied scientific research, and the use of AI technology and high-performance computing.

The Hackathon will bring together programmers, chemists, physicists, mathematicians, and technologists over two days in search of fresh, original ideas and solutions in such areas as bioinformatics, digital material science, material property modelling, computer engineering and material design.

Lectures and Top 10 Speakers of FIT-M 2021 is a special format featuring 10 lectures for a wide audience. Researchers from leading Russian and international think tanks will talk about pressing topics in economics, technology, science, and politics, as well as offer their forecasts for the period up to 2035.

The forum will also feature a series of master classes given by technical teams from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, AMD, Supermicro, VK Cloud Solutions, МТS, WiseAdvice, Accenture, Leroy Merlin, NAUMEN, Quantil, Wangsu Science & Technology, Avito, Rosgosstrakh, Divido, SberDevices, SberAuto, MTS Cloud, Tinkoff, Zipsale, Odnoklassniki, Rosvodokanal Group, Evraz, Xsolla and many others.

Tim Kham, CEO of ANNA Systems and Co-Chair of the forum’s organizing committee, said that FIT-M is notable for its freedom of discussion—in fact, the name ‘FIT’ stands for ‘Forum of Innovation Technology.’ ‘But FIT also stands for doing something with someone who at first glance seems incompatible with you. We invite opposing parties to participate in each of the forum formats. For example, there will be lectures from Boris Kagarlitsky, Vladislav Inozemtsev and Gleb Pavlovsky, who all represent different schools and positions,’ he explained. ‘In Reactor, we mix Amazon and Microsoft—two irreconcilable competitors. Their representatives will talk about the features of cloud infrastructures from the perspective of their technological solutions.’ He notes that the organizers of FIT-M adhere to the strict principle of an interdisciplinary and multi-activity approach.

Fuad Aleskerov, Professor, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Director of the International Centre of Decision Choice and Analysis

The forum will showcase completely new results achieved not only by our scientists, but also by leading scientists, specialists, and practitioners from all over the world. Attendees can dive right into the thick of things, and stand at the forefront of scientific and practical work in the field of information technology.

A lot of interesting events will take place at FIT-M: lectures by leading scientists, the Hackathon, and the Reactor. There will be something for everyone: some participants will find answers to their questions, some will see a place for themselves and their models in the relevant fields, and others will learn about unexpected ideas that can help them in the future.

Those interested can visit the official website of the forum to sign up to participate, apply to give a talk, and view the event programme.
