The Russian-Chinese Summer School on Law has started at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. The Summer School is traditionally carried out by the Faculty of Law and our university’s Chinese partner, the South West University of Political Science and Law (Chongqing, China).
On July 1-11 2015, a summer school on the development of mobile applications was held at HSE. Fourteen projects by school participants, created during the four days of ‘Hackaton’ were presented to an expert jury.
HSE has held the 5th International Relations Russia-China Summer School 'Eurasia 2020: Prospects for cooperation.' The school has been held since 2011 by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs jointly with the East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). This year it was held with support from the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. This is the only summer school of this kind held in Russia.
In the Moscow Region, the Ninth Russian Summer School on Institutional Analysis (RSSIA) was held recently, bringing together 26 young researchers from Italy, Montenegro, the Philippines, Macedonia, Great Britain, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia. During the programme, they addressed problems concerning the economics of education, financial institutions, the public sector, and the theory of industrial markets.
From June 15 to 19, 2015, the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge(ISSEK) held a joint summer school with Brazil’s Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE). The aim of the summer school was to explore areas for collaboration for both countries and institutions in the field of Foresight and STI policy following an earlier memorandum of understanding signed between CGEE and HSE.
On June 20, HSE Summer University classes began. In comparison with last year, the university has seen an increase both in the number of participants and in the diversity of courses offered.
On June 11-14, the fifth ISEL SCR summer school was held near Moscow. The summer school was dedicated to group work on the participants’ research project.
From June 7−12, 2015, the International Summer School on Sustainable Development of Urban Agglomerations took place as part of HSE’s cooperation with the Institute of International Education (Fulbright Programme). The summer school was organized by the HSE School of Public Administration together with the Fulbright Programme in Russia. This summer school was a continuation in a series of joint summer schools held with the Fulbright Programme (2012 and 2013) devoted to various aspects of theory and practice in sustainable development.
The Indian Summer School in Linguistics — one of the HSE's summer schools — recently ended at the Faculty of Philology. Every day between September 1 and 5, dozens of students from the HSE and other Moscow universities and research centers attended lectures in linguistic typology—a subset of linguistics which compares both related and unrelated languages to determine what is universal, what can vary, and what is impossible in language.
The 6th International Summer School ‘Exploring Entrepreneurship’ in Moscow has come to an end. At the school, students from Russian, Dutch, British and other European universities tried to identify the main factors that will influence the future development of small and medium-sized businesses around the world.
