Sberbank’s Charity Foundation and the HSE Institute of Education have recently agreed to cooperate on a milestone 21st century skills research and development project. With multiple representatives of the academic and business communities, among others, this collaborative endeavour aims to deliver visible improvements to Russia’s education system. In particular, the project will involve devising a clear approach to identifying, evaluating, and deploying core next-generation skills and competencies that consider national socioeconomic and educational contexts alongside global best practice.
The Higher School of Economics has made it onto 13 subject and two subject area rankings in the QS World University Ranking thanks to the university’s achievements as part of the Project 5-100. In addition, HSE was in the top 100 ranking for three subjects – Economics & Econometrics, Politics & International Studies, and Sociology – and it was the only Russian school in the Accounting & Finance 101-150 ranking. As for total number of subject rankings, HSE was third in Russia.
Several students from the Higher School of Economics have developed innovative engineering and computer technologies for business, and their unique inventions have won them grants from the UMNIK programme, which is organised by the Innovation Support Foundation.

In order to make its educational products better suited to the global audience, the university works both on the content of programmes and on their structure.
The Higher School of Economics has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Nottingham (Great Britain). Now students on the HSE MA Programme in Legal Informatics will be able to receive an LLM (Master of Laws) degree as part of this double-degree programme.

The HSE Banking Institute welcomes international students from around the world who have expressed growing interest in our Financial Analyst Master’s programme, which is conducted entirely in English and is the only such programme in Russia and the CIS to be recognized by the CFA Institute as a Program Partner. On February 5th, 2017, the national finals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious law competitions for students, was held in Moscow. A team from the HSE Faculty of Law took first place for the second year running.
