A new mentoring programme has kicked off at HSE that gives students the opportunity to choose an HSE graduate to be their ‘sensei’. These can be people who have already evolved professionally in their field or who have implemented a business idea similar to that of their mentees. Researching the Intersection of Russian Literature and Medicine

Since last September, Matthew Mangold has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Philology at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. After completing a PhD in Comparative Literature at Rutgers University in 2017, he joined HSE to conduct research on the intersection between Russian literature and the medical arts, in particular environmental medicine and psychology.

Two Programmes of Higher School of Marketing and Business Development Acknowledged in Europe

Two continuing education programmes at the HSE, ‘Marketing for Professionals’ and ‘Master in Marketing’, have been accredited by the European Marketing Confederation. Now, graduates can take additional exams and receive certificates recognized by European companies, including those operating in Russia.

HSE University Opens Joint Laboratory with Samsung Research

Samsung-HSE Laboratory will develop mechanisms of Bayesian inference in modern neural networks, which will solve a number of problems in deep learning. The laboratory team will be made up of the members of the Bayesian Methods Research Group — one of the strongest scientific groups in Russia in the field of machine learning and Bayesian inference. It will be headed by a professor of the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Vetrov.

HSE has topped the list of universities in the Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100 once again, having been ranked in 13 subjects and 3 subject areas in the QS World University Rankings. Ashish Kumar Singh hails from a place called Raebareli, a city of about 3,000,000 people located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He recently joined the doctoral programme in Political Science at HSE, a decision he says was motivated by discussions he had with a professor from HSE who was visiting the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in New Delhi

Master’s Programme in Comparative Social Research Now Offers a Double Degree Option

HSE has signed an agreement for a double degree programme with the Free University of Berlin in Germany. The agreement encompasses the Master's programme in Comparative Social Research and its German counterpart will be the ‘East European Studies’ programme.
