HSE Researchers Become Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On October 28, the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) held a meeting to announce the results of elections of new members: 176 scholars were selected as academicians, and 323 scholars as corresponding members. HSE researchers are among the new RAS members.

The following HSE researchers were named as academicians:

Nanotechnology and Information Technology

Yuri Popkov — Professor, Head of the ‘Mathematical Methods of System Analysis: Joint Department with the Research Institute of System Analysis (RAS)’ (Faculty of Computer Science)

Power Industry, Machine Building, Mechanics and Control Processes

Sergey Filippov — Academic Supervisor of the Energy Institute

Physical Sciences

Igor Kukushkin — Chief Research Fellow at the Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics
