Alina Pertseva, who earned her PhD in Philosophy from the Doctoral School of Philosophy at HSE in 2017, defended her dissertation at two universities at once — HSE and the University of Paris VIII. In an interview with the HSE news service, Pertseva discussed how she managed to do this and how the Russian and French approaches to research differ.
Students of Parallel Degree Programme in International Relations Perform Significantly Higher than International Average on University of London Exams
The number of HSE students who successfully passed the exams conducted at the University of London in 2018 was significantly higher than the average for other universities participating in the international programme there. HSE received the status of Recognized Teaching Centre.
The latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject demonstrate that Russian universities are continuing to make great strides in international rankings. Among the Russian universities that made the rankings, HSE tops the list with 16 specific subjects and 3 broad subject areas entering the rankings. Compared to last year, HSE has improved its performance in almost all subjects.

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), one of the world's largest professional associations in the field of business and management, has awarded the Master’s Programme ‘Finance’ at the HSE in St. Petersburg an accreditation for a period of three years. This is the first Master’s programme in Russia to be accredited by the EFMD.
On February 24, 2014, HSE launched its first course on the Coursera online education platform. Along with St. Petersburg State University and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, HSE was one of the first Russian universities to host a course on the platform. On February 18, the online round of the International Data Analysis Olympiad (IDAO) officially finished. The Data analysis competition is organized by the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and Yandex with the support of Sberbank. This year 1287 teams from 78 countries took part in the online round.
