Challenges for Universities

On October 22nd and 23rd the first international conference ‘Research in Higher Education’ took place at the Higher School of Economics. The event was organized by the HSE together with the Boston College Center for International Higher Education, the World Bank and the National Foundation for Professional Training.

Facebook: the Platform of Success

On October 22nd Robert Johnson, Director of Engineering at Facebook, gave a talk at the Faculty of Business Informatics of the Higher School of Economics, invited by the Department of Innovations and Business in Information Technologies. His talk was devoted to the rise of Facebook from 10 million to half a billion active users.

Equal Opportunities and the ‘Disinterested Government’

On October 4th a special session of the Political Economy research seminar took place at the HSE Faculty of Economics. Registration opened for the HSE International Winter Session 2011

Starting from January 2011 the National Research University - Higher School of Economics offers an International Winter Session. The Winter Session gives students a unique opportunity to immerse in intensive studies at the Higher School of Economics - one of the biggest research universities in CIS and Eastern Europe.

On September 17tha delegation from the University of Lancaster, Great Britain, visited the Higher School of Economics. At a series of meetings, the guests learnt more about the HSE’s activities, and were involved in negotiations regarding possible areas of cooperation between the two universities.
