  • ‘My Dream Is to Help as Many People as Possible, Making the World a Healthier and Happier Place’

    Nikolay Bogdanov, from Bulgaria, graduated from the HSE Faculty of Social Sciences in 2022. Currently, he is based in the Netherlands, where he pursues a master's degree and works as a life coach. In an interview with the HSE News Service, Nikolay shares his professional challenges and achievements, as well as the importance of teamwork, persistent curiosity, and self-improvement.

  • HSE University and Yandex to Host International AI Olympiad for Students

    The HSE Faculty of Computer Science and Yandex Education are launching their first joint AI competition, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis Olympiad (AIDAO), for students from around the world. Participants will tackle challenging tasks in science and industry and interact with experts from HSE and Yandex. The winners will receive cash prizes.

  • HSE Students Take Part in China ICBC Training Camp

    In August, 2024, the China ICBC Training Camp took place in Guiyang. The Youthful Passion Fruit team from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science participated in the programming contest. This event brought together around 40 teams from China, Japan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Mexico, and other countries.

  • International University District to Unite HSE University with Schools in Kyrgyzstan

    During a working trip to the Kyrgyz Republic, Galina Volodina, Director of HSE University–Perm, met with representatives of ministries and educational organisations, and presented a new project for schools. The district will become a platform for discussing current issues and implementing advanced practices to improve the quality of education. It will offer advanced training for teachers, free preparatory courses for final-year students, and cooperation with the HSE Lyceum.

  • Double Winner of the International Olympiad in Informatics Admitted to HSE Faculty of Computer Science

    Ivan Piskarev, a member of the Russian national team who won gold at both 2023 and 2024 International Olympiads in Informatics (IOI), has enrolled in the bachelor's programme ‘Applied Mathematics and Information Science’ at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science. He first won the competition in September 2023 in Hungary, and then again in September 2024 in Egypt.

    Olga Buivolova investigates post-stroke language impairments and aims to ensure that scientific breakthroughs reach those who need them. In this interview with the HSE Young Scientists project, she spoke about the unique Russian Aphasia Test and helping people with aphasia, and about her place of power in Skhodnensky district.

  • Winners of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence Admitted to HSE University

    In August, Bulgaria hosted the finals of the first International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence among high school students. The Russian team demonstrated excellent results, winning gold medals in the scientific round, silver medals in the practical round, and coming first in both rounds overall. This year two members of the Russian team were accepted into the programmes of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science.

  • HSE Scientist Optimises Solution of Hydrodynamics Problems

    Roman Gaydukov, Associate Professor at the MIEM HSE School of Applied Mathematics, has modelled the fluid flow around a rotating disk with small surface irregularities. His solution allows for predicting fluid flow behaviour without the need for powerful supercomputers. The results have been published in Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics.
