On 20th May 2015 Dr Michael Minch, Professor of Philosophy at Utah Valley University, gave an open lecture at HSE Nizhny Novgorod. A specialist with a unique combination of interests ranging from theological ethics to politics, Professor Minch brings together what at first glance appear to be irreconcilable — politics and ethics.
December 5-6, 2013 HSE held an international conference “Diderot, Encyclopaedia, Enlightenment”, which was organised jointly by the Philosophy, History and Philology faculties. Russian academics and French researchers from the universities of Caen, Reims, Paris Ouest and Paris Sorbonne all took part in the forum.
Elena Dragalina-Chernaya, Professor of the Department of Ontology, Logic, and Epistemology, HSE Faculty of Philosophy and Head of the Laboratory for Philosophical Studies, HSE Centre for Advanced Studies presents international conference “Ontology of Negativitiness” that will take place at the HSE on October, 22-23, 2013.
In 2014, an innovative master’s programme on ‘Philosophy, Politics and Economics’ (PPE) will open at the HSE. The new programme is a result of cooperation between several HSE faculties: Political Science, Economics, Philosophy, and World Economy and International Affairs. Witten/Herdecke University (Germany) is an international partner of the programme.
Viktor Gorbatov, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy Department of Ontology, Logics and Theory of Knowledge, is, according to the students of the Faculties of Economics and Psychology, one of the best teachers who conducts seminars.
