  • New RSF Awards for 31 Projects Led by Young HSE Researchers

    The Russian Science Foundation (RSF) has completed its review of project proposals submitted for grants supporting early-career researchers. More than 850 projects have been selected for funding, including 31 from HSE University. The grants will finance research addressing specific objectives within the priorities of scientific and technological development set out in the Scientific and Technological Development Strategy of the Russian Federation.

    From July 13 to 17, 2026, the HSE Faculty of Mathematics hosted the international conference ‘Moduli, Dynamics, and Integrability,’ bringing together leading mathematicians from Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

  • What Hegel and Marx Can Teach Us About Today’s Housing Crisis

    Researchers from HSE University examined how the housing crisis in European countries is affecting young people’s perceptions of home ownership, freedom, and the future. As access to home ownership becomes more difficult, young people increasingly seek opportunities for self-realisation and recognition in digital environments, including game worlds and metaverses.   • Where Code Meets Design: How HSE Students Learn to Create Games and Digital Products

    In 2025, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and the Art and Design School launched their joint bachelor's programme in Game and Digital Product Development (GDPD). This unique, interdisciplinary programme combines in-depth technical knowledge with training in design, management, marketing, and production. Students from the programme's first cohort shared their impressions of the first academic year.

  • Sugar Cravings Prove Stronger Than Health Concerns

    Researchers from HSE University–Perm used EEG to study how sugar cravings and interest in healthy eating affect the evaluation of Cola-flavoured beverages. During the tasting, participants assessed the taste of each beverage and named the maximum amount they would be willing to pay for it. The results showed that the more interested a person was in their health, the harder it was for them to decide whether they were willing to pay, and the smaller the amount they were ultimately willing to spend.

  • International Dialogue and New Approaches: Highlights from Fudan University’s Summer School

    At the beginning of July 2026, students from the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs took part in the Summer School on International Relations organised by Fudan University (China), one of the leading international educational programmes in this field. Over the course of two weeks, they explored contemporary approaches to global governance and the development of the Global South, attended lectures by renowned scholars from around the world, and discussed current international issues with fellow students from across the globe.
