  • Discovering Science through Russian Language

    On May 23, 2026, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Discovering the World of Science’ took place in Kazan at the Preparatory Faculty for International Students of Kazan Federal University. Four students of the HSE International Preparatory Year took part in the event: two delivered their presentations in person, while two participated online.

  • HSE University Tops Forbes Employer Reputation Ranking Once Again

    Forbes Education has published its ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the strongest reputations among employers. As in recent years, HSE University secured first place with a reputation index of 98 points. In addition, 67.2% of employers stated that they trust the quality of education provided by HSE University, an increase of three percentage points compared with last year.

  • HSE Study Reveals Imbalance in the Generative AI Market

    Researchers at HSE University analysed how effectively the global generative artificial intelligence market converts investment into real revenue, concluding that AI is currently developing faster than it is paying off. The results have been published in the journal Foresight and STI Governance.

  • HSE and Peking University Expand Cooperation in Civil Society Research

    A seminar involving Russian and Chinese scholars on cooperation between the state and non-profit organisations was held in Beijing. Participants discussed the evolution of institutions, cooperation practices, and challenges facing the development of the non-profit sector. The meeting concluded with agreements to expand joint projects and academic exchanges.

  • The Challenge of Proportional Representation: Nobel Laureate Gives a Talk to Students and Staff at HSE University

    Eric Maskin, an American economist and recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Economics, gave a talk at HSE University in which he shared his views on the shortcomings of the proportional representation system and outlined his proposals for reform.

  • HSE and Sultan Qaboos University: Expanding Academic and Research Partnership

    In May 2026, a delegation from Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) made an official visit to HSE University. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss new forms of cooperation and partnership and to identify areas of mutual interest. Representatives of HSE’s Moscow, St Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod campuses spoke about their shared interest in expanding joint projects, primarily in the field of artificial intelligence—a strategic development priority for both universities.

  • Representatives of Universities Worldwide Discuss Challenges of Higher Education in the Age of AI in St Petersburg

    On May 20, more than 100 delegates from 20 countries, including China, Brazil, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Qatar, and the UAE, took part in the business programme of HSE International Partners’ Week 2026. The key sessions of the large-scale forum, dedicated to priority areas of global cooperation in science and higher education, were held at the Sergey Kuryokhin Centre for Contemporary Art in St Petersburg.

  • ‘Entering Robotics Now Means Growing with the Area’

    Unmanned vehicles, courier robots, and smart speakers are rapidly becoming a part of our lives. In 2026, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science opens its new Bachelor’s Programme ‘Design of Intelligent Robotic Systems’ (DIRS). It will train specialists at the intersection of IT, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Academic Supervisor of DIRS Vadim Morgachev explains how studies are organised and why graduates of the programme ‘will definitely be accepted into the future.’
