Graduate Programmes

Graduate programmes at HSE prepare students in specific areas of expertise so that upon graduating they possess skills and competencies that are highly sought after in the international job market. Classroom instruction is combined with experience-based learning through internships at major research centres, corporations, and organizations in Russia and around the world.

Applications may be submitted in English or in Russian.


November 1, 2016 – July 1, 2017 online applications may be submitted for preliminary selection; online (and in-person) candidate interviews will be held with programme teams.

July 15, 2017 – August 25 submission of all supporting documents.

Deadline for signing agreements and enrollment forms.

Classes start.

*Dates apply to Moscow programmes only. Please note that some programmes begin on October 1, 2017. For these programmes, the deadline for submitting all supporting documents is September 25, 2017, and the deadline for signing all agreements and enrollment forms is September 30, 2017.

Government Scholarships

International students can apply to study at HSE for free through full-tuition scholarships. This merit-based scholarship will completely waive all tuition fees for select full-degree programmes at HSE. To be considered for a full-tuition scholarship, candidates must submit their applications by April 1, 2017. 

Please note that full-tuition scholarships are not available for the following programmes: Quantum Information Technologies, Financial Analyst (CFA Program Partner), Global Business, International Business, Applied Statistics with Network Analysis, City and Technology, and International Relations in Eurasia.

Russian-taught Programmes

Information about applying for HSE’s Russian-taught Master's programmes can be found here (in Russian). Our office is available to answer questions about the application process.

For international students who wish to first strengthen their language skills (and also for complete beginners), HSE’s Preparatory Year will prepare them to study in Russian-taught programs.
